As part of the 2018-2023 N-MUSD Chromebook Initiative in the CdM zone, each child in 5th and 6th grades at NCE will be issued a Chromebook to be used in class and taken home. Consent forms must be reviewed and completed by the parent and student in order for the Chromebook to be issued to the student. Please note that there are two separate consent forms - one for use during school hours and one for check-out to take the Chromebook home. Copies are also available in the school office. Students in all grades will use Chromebooks in school, and therefore must have a completed consent form for use during school hours on file with their teacher.
For additional information, please visit the district's Chromebook Initiative website.

Newport Coast Elementary School opened its doors on February 26, 2001 with 318 students and we currently have over 500 students for the 2023-20 school year. The curriculum is based upon National, Common Core Standards decided upon by the State of California and the Newport-Mesa Unified School District. The staff and community are especially proud of the recognition received by the California Department of Education as a 2018 California Distinguished School and a 2018 Exemplary Arts School. We are also recognized as a California PBIS Platinum School.
Excellence in a caring environment and student learning continues to be the focus for all decision making. The mission of our school is to see that all students learn at high levels.
